Teresa is currently in Australia filming Hacksaw Ridge but took more time out from the hectic shooting schedule to attend the AACTA Awards in Sydney last night (Dec 9th 2015).

The 29-year-old beauty wowed in a sheer Camilla and Marc gown which showed off her bra in the dress, which boasted a sheer top and an opaque skirt. She had her hair pulled into a high pony tail on her head and carried a glittering small metallic clutch bag.

Teresa Palmer joined Mel Gibson at the National Institute of Dramatic Art. His has been a Hollywood career of extreme highs and well documented lows, but veteran star Mel Gibson went back to where it all began during a special appearance in Sydney on Sunday evening.

The 59-year old actor-director proved to be centre of attention as he returned to the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) for the launch of a new graduate school. Gibson, who graduated from the prestigious acting institute in 1977, was in high spirits as he posed for photos with guests including actress Teresa Palmer.

The pair were taking a break from the set of Gibson’s latest directorial offering, World War II drama Hacksaw Ridge, which sees Palmer star alongside Hollywood stars Vince Vaghn and Andrew Garfield.

The actress looked stunning in an embellished lace dress that accentuated her slender frame as she posed for photos before making her way inside. Referencing her appearance at the launch, Palmer later shared an image of herself with Gibson on Instagram.

‘Thanks #MelGibson and #NIDA for inviting me to attend the new Graduate School Opening. I was happy to support my director and friend as he spoke of his (hilarious!) memories attending NIDA a few moons back!’ she captioned the shot.

Hacksaw Ridge will be his fifth directorial offering following mixed critical commercial success with The Man Without A Face, Braveheart, The Passion Of The Christ and Apocalypto.

Teresa is in Hawaii for the Maui Film Festival where she attended the Taste of Summer Opening Night Party for the event on Wednesday evening. Teresa and Scott Eastwood picked up “Rising Star” awards and discussed their fast-evolving careers.

Festival director Barry Rivers presented the pair their awards as part of the festival’s opening celebration. They were then interviewed onstage by Variety editor David S. Cohen before a full house at the “Celestial Cinema” outdoor theater at the Wailea Golf Club.

Both Palmer and Eastwood are transitioning from indies to major roles in high-budget studio films. Palmer called the upcoming “re-envisioning” of “Point Break,” in which she appears, “an homage to the beautiful original film, which I’m a huge fan of.” She said “it’s much more on an international scale; we filmed in 10 countries on four continents.”

But she said her own work on it “didn’t feel any different than doing a little independent Australian movie … I still had the same level of commitment. You just have to shut that out. You just have to remain focused on what you’re there to, which is tell the story of this particular character.

“I’ve learned in the last few years I just want to portray real,” she said. “If I can do a character that’s grounded in reality and find authenticity in her, then I feel like I’m doing my job.”
