UK Distributor Artificial Eye has acquired Cate Shortland’s Berlin Syndrome, starring Teresa Palmer as a backpacking photojournalist whose holiday romance takes a sinister turn when she is imprisoned by her new lover.

The Paris-based Memento Films International, which is unveiling a teaser at the AFM, has also sold the film to Turkey (Bir Film), ex-Yugoslavia (Megacom), South Korean (Yejilim), Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia (Queen), and the Middle East (Falcon).

The company has also released a first image of Palmer on the U-Bahn, or underground, in Berlin where the production has just finished shooting exteriors before heading to the studio in Melbourne for the interiors.

Much-in-demand Palmer also has upcoming roles in Mel Gibson’s World War Two drama Hacksaw Ridge, the James Wan-produced horror thriller Lights Out and Nicholas Sparks’ adaptation The Choice.

Berlin Syndrome is Australian Cate Shortland’s third feature after the award-winning 2012 World War Two drama Lore and Somersault, which starred Abbie Cornish as young girl figuring out the difference between sex and love. The latter premiered in Cannes Un Certain Regard in 2004.

Her latest is an adaptation of Melanie Joosten’s book Berlin Syndrome by Shaun Grant, who co-wrote Justin Kurzel’s Snowtown. Polly Staniford at Aquarius Films is producing with backing from Screen Australia, Fulcrum Media Finance, Film Victoria & DDP Studios. Entertainment One will distribute Australia.

Teresa Palmer and co-star Benjamin Walker look as happy as can be together in this final poster for their upcoming film The Choice.

Based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks, the movie follows feisty medical student Gabby Holland (Palmer), who moves in next door to perennial ladies’ man Travis Shaw (Walker), and it sends them both on a romantic journey neither ever dreamed possible.

Travis has always believed a serious relationship with a woman would cramp his easygoing lifestyle, while Gabby is all set to settle down her long-term boyfriend—until an irresistible attraction between the unlikely couple upends both of their well-planned lives.

After a whirlwind courtship, Gabby and Travis wed and build a family together, making every decision hand-in-hand until one of them is forced to make the most important choice of their life alone.

A poignant and life-affirming celebration of love, marriage and family that explores the most heart-wrenching question of all: how far would you go to keep the hope of love alive?

The Choice hits theaters on February 5, 2016! It also stars Alexandra Daddario, Maggie Grace, and Tom Welling.

Director Mel Gibson’s World War II film, Hacksaw Ridge, has begun production in New South Wales, Australia.

The film stars Andrew Garfield as conscientious objector Desmond T. Doss, and just-announced additions to the cast include Rachel Griffiths, Teresa Palmer and Richard Roxburgh, while Gibson’s son Milo has also claimed a role.

Vince Vaughn, Sam Worthington and Luke Bracey were previously announced as heading the cast alongside Garfield.

Hacksaw Ridge is the true story of conscientious objector Doss, who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men without firing a gun. Believing that the war was just but killing was nevertheless wrong, he was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon.

Worthington plays Captain Glover, who is in charge of the unit, while Vaughn plays Sergeant Howell, whose job is to get the new recruits ready for battle. Bracey is Smitty Ryker, the alpha of the platoon that Doss belongs to. As an army medic, Doss single-handedly evacuated the wounded near enemy lines, braved fire while tending to soldiers and was wounded by a grenade and hit by snipers. He was the first conscientious objector to ever win the Congressional Medal of Honor.

The film also takes place in Doss’ hometown of Lynchburg, Va., and Palmer has been cast as his sweetheart Dorothy Shutte, with Griffiths playing Desmond’s mother, Bertha Doss. Hacksaw Ridge will be distributed in 2016 by Icon Film Distribution in Australia and Lionsgate/Summit in the U.S., with IM Global handling international sales.

Teresa just finished working in Germany, and after a whistle-stop visit to LA, she jetted off once again, this time returning to her native Australia. Touching down with Bodhi in tow, the flame haired beauty beamed as they made their way through Adelaide airport on Monday. Carrying the one-year-old after their long flight, Teresa seemed in high spirits as she made her way to a car. Inside the pair were spotted playing as they waited for the remainder of their luggage, with 29-year-old Teresa putting on an energetic display for her son.
