If you’ve ever wondered what a Hollywood starlet would wear on Melbourne Cup day, you’ll soon have a chance to find out.
Mum-to-be Teresa Palmer will jet back into Adelaide to appear as a special guest at the Little Heroes Melbourne Cup lunch at the National Wine Centre on November 5.
But she won’t be sipping any celebratory champagne – the actress recently announced her pregnancy to film director fiance Mark Webber.
Last week she was snapped hitting the shops with mother Paula Sanders in LA while tweeting for suggestions for “a very earthy, organic, hippie baby clothing line.”
During a visit here earlier in the year both Teresa and Mark talked about their desire to grow their family and a possible move back to Adelaide.
Also appearing at the Melbourne Cup lunch will be The Voice’s Sarah Lloyd.

That’s officially, Teresa Palmer is expecting her first child. She posted a beautiful photo of her futur baby on her Twitter account. She’s gonna be the best mum ever. Congratulations to her ! I’m so happy for her and Mark.
This is where my heart is. To my precious baby- I’m so blessed to be your mama, we have been wishing for you for awhile. We love you so much and can’t wait to kiss your little face and tiny toes. Thank you for hearing our prayers. @likemark
Typecasting has stalled many a career, but it won’t be a problem for Teresa Palmer, whose greatest gift may be that she is so startlingly natural wherever she’s planted. This was most evident in her hit from earlier this year, Warm Bodies, in which she’s a tough-cookie survivor, post-zombie apocalypse, in love with a guy with one major drawback — he’s one of the undead. Even at a glance — in such unalike pictures as the Adam Sandler comedy Bedtime Stories; or Take Me Home Tonight, opposite Topher Grace; or the extraterrestrial fantasy I Am Number Four — the romance, action and humor are anchored because Palmer is so deeply down-to-earth.
Although she’s more in demand than ever – with roles in Love and Honor, a Vietnam-era drama co-starring Liam Hemsworth, Terrence Malick’s Knight of Cups, with Christian Bale; again opposite Hemsworth in the thriller Cut Bank; and in Parts Per Billion, an unsettling drama costarring Gena Rowlands – the driven Aussie is keen to generate her own projects, too. They include Track Town, which she co-wrote with costar Tahyna Tozzi, set to film in 2014. More immediately, she is collaborating on The Ever After with her fiancé, director Mark Webber.
So many Australians have succeeded here in Hollywood. Even so, it’s a huge risk to come all this way. What made you decide to try? Honestly, I had no plan of attack. I fell into acting. I was taking any opportunity that came my way. One came when I was in Cannes [in 2006] with 2:37, my first big film. American casting directors had seen it at the festival and wanted me to audition. My manager encouraged me. I landed in Los Angeles for what I thought would be a couple of weeks — quite excited by this new adventure — then booked two of the roles I tried out for. It was decided for me, I guess. My life unfolded in that way. I was cast in American movies.
On August 4, Teresa was seen by paparazzis in a street of Los Angeles, heading her pilates class. You can find 14 photos of her departure in the gallery !

Teresa Palmer is attached to star opposite Elisabeth Moss in Sophia Takal’s ALWAYS SHINE. Tracking Board originally broke the news of Moss’ casting in the film, which centers on two best friends whose weekend getaway in Big Sur turns deadly when their jealousies and insecurities begin to surface. Palmer will star as Beth, one half of the best friend duo and a flourishing actress. Her successes spark jealousy in Anna (Moss), whose own acting career is not taking off as she would hope.
Kimberly Sherman will produce the pic.
After appearing in 2006′s “The Grudge 2″, Palmer started building up her resume with a string of performances in “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”, “I Am Number Four” and “Take Me Home Tonight.” More recently the Aussie thesp was featured in the drama “Wish You Were Here” and in the rom-zom-com “Warm Bodies.” Next up she will be seen in “Knight of Cups” (assuming she makes Terrence Malick’s final cut) and “Parts Per Billion.”
