(On Adam Sandler) I grew up totally obsessed with his films Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore, so to work with him was absolutely a dream come true.

(On acting) “I’d prefer to be really passionate about it than to just work for the sake of working, even if it means not working for eight months – it’s important for me to be proud of the work I do”.

(On pursuing acting) “I kind of fell into it and I was like “Wow, this is fun. I’ll just keep going with this.” I was talking to my mom about it and she really thinks that is a big reason to do with it, the fact that I’m here doing what I’m doing”.

(On filming “Wish You Were Here” with Joel Edgerton) “We had a very small crew, and the majority of them were locals, so there were a lot of lost-in-translation moments. We had lots of fun.”

“I had no brothers or sisters so I had to create my own world to occupy myself”.

(On staying fit and healthy) “If I’m not being active I just feel really run down and sluggish. I’m also really passionate about yoga and I love what it does for me both physically and mentally – it’s a wonderful way to de-stress.”

“In terms of acting, I like acting in dramas. I like pushing myself and constantly being challenged”.

Most boys have got such egos and they want to be the cool guy or the football guy or the jock. That’s not appealing to me at all. What’s appealing to me is someone who loves who they are and if they are dorky and into physics or maths, so be it. That is the most refreshing thing.

My favorite film, which the girls will understand what I’m talking about, is The Notebook. Everyone loves that. We all cry. To watch a film like that, it’s so beautiful and you get wrapped up in the story and you want to have a relationship like that and you want to die together and all these silly things.

I’m very much into animal welfare. I’ve been doing some volunteer work with one of the animal places around here. I’m trying to get my own thing up and running in the next few years like the Animal Welfare League back in Australia. So I’m working on that in the meantime in between films.

I think the fact that I lived on the beach in Adelaide was such a beautiful thing for me. I could wake up in the morning and just open my doors and walk along the beach with my dogs and go swimming. Actually I wouldn’t go swimming because there’s so many shark attacks in Australia. It’s really scary. I think here, I live in Beverly Hills, I mean the ocean is in Santa Monica but you have to drive to get there. I guess that’s what I miss – the natural beauty of Semaphore Beach where I’m from.

The last few years for me have been a snowball. It’s been insane. I still am pinching myself and I just know how blessed I am to be here and to be doing what I love.

I love being back home because I stay with my mom. We cook together and I wear whatever I want as I walk my dogs down the street. Nobody looks at me twice in Adelaide. They don’t really care about the movie industry, so I get to be normal. I don’t have to worry about any of the other stuff that comes along with being an actor.

(on her co-star Daniel Radcliffe) “Daniel is such a delight to work with. He is so brilliant and talented. At the same time, he has all this amazing success and fame and all these things which, you would think, he would be very affected by it all but he really isn’t. He’s very unaffected and unassuming. Just like a regular 18-year-old guy. I think, he really brought that to set and made the younger boys, who obviously idolized him, just feel so comfortable. They’re all like brothers hanging out. I felt like the sister. It was so fun. It was such a good experience.”
